This post is a travel guide with a 5 day Hampi itinerary. Hampi is located in the state of Karnataka in South India. It was the capital of the Vijayanagara empire and is still home to hundreds of ancient temples. The ruins cover a large area and it is easy to be overwhelmed as a first time visitor.
Most backpackers stay much longer than planned, because of the relaxed atmosphere, the slow pace of life and the range of activities available. It would take months to see all the ruins in Hampi and once you get tired of history you could enjoy the outdoors and go hiking or boulder climbing. The rocky landscapes in the area are just as impressive.

Day 1
Morning: Arrive at Hospet railway station or airport, and transfer to your hotel in Hospet or Hampi.
Afternoon: Visit the Virupaksha Temple, a prominent temple complex in Hampi, and explore the adjacent market area.

Morning: Explore the Royal Center, which includes the Mahanavami Dibba, Lotus Mahal, and Elephant Stables.
Afternoon: Visit the Vithala Temple complex, famous for its stone chariot and musical pillars.
Evening: Take a coracle ride on the Tungabhadra River for a unique perspective of the ruins. . After Check in your hotel overnight stay.

Morning: Explore the riverside sculptures and the Kodandarama Temple, and then cross the Tungabhadra River to the Anegundi side.
Afternoon: Visit the Achyutaraya Temple and the ancient Anegundi Fort, or relax by the scenic Sanapur Lake.
Evening: Hike up Anjanadri Hill (Hanuman's birthplace) for stunning sunrise or sunset views over the landscape. . After Check in your hotel overnight stay.

- The price mentioned above is valid on date for 4 Passenger (minimum), passengers traveling together. Any drastic increase in cost due to sudden change in rates of Hotels, Train, and Transportation Tax revision by the government will be informed to you immediately and will be extra.
